Pedestrian in Parking Lot Hit by Car

A young woman in a parking lot was accidentally struck by a driver and suffered a serious traumatic brain injury, resulting in a coma and other injuries. The driver claimed to have been upset at the time, causing him to mistakenly press on the gas pedal instead of the brake.

Fortunately, after being airlifted to a trauma center, she slowly recovered. Unfortunately, she had no health insurance, and the driver was underinsured. Working with the co-counsel, we were able to recover a substantial sum of money for this young woman, from the driver’s insurance company and from her own uninsured motorist policy, as well as obtaining a significant contribution from the driver’s own personal assets.

Moreover, we were able to negotiate her medical bills, including gaining a significant reduction of her air ambulance bill, so that she only had to pay a percentage of the charges. The case settled without having to file a lawsuit or incur expenses.
